Bertha Garcia, of Midland, passed away early morning February 17, 2026, peacefully with her daughter and sister-in-law by her side. Born to parents Aurelia Duran and Jose Menchaca at Poure Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Bertha was known for being someone that anyone and everyone could talk to. She was known for her kindness, frankness, humor, and ability to give the best advice when you needed it the most. She enjoyed sketching, playing Legend of Zelda, music, movies, and various other creative hobbies that she could get her hands on.
From early on it was obvious how talented she was, being known in many areas for her amazing singing voice. She could have easily gone far with music yet knew that family was what she wanted the most and dedicated her life to them. She passed on her love of music to her children and grandchildren, and when asked if she would sing again, she would simply state that she leaves that up to her children now. She was a mom to all, "adopting" many others throughout the years whom she would pass on her motherly kindness, wisdom, and advice to.
Her husband would frequently tell her, "The whole world would talk to you if they could", and they would without hesitation because that's how comfortable she made others feel.
Bertha is survived by her Husband, Reynaldo; Brother Joseph Menchaca; children, Larry Sutton, Christopher Sutton, William Sutton, and Elizabeth Garcia; eight grandchildren, Jaymes Ruskanen, Andrea Kelly, Melissa Holmes, Rachel Phillips, Seirra-Kay Sutton, Sabrina Sutton, Samantha Sutton, and Abigail Sutton; and her twelve, soon to be thirteen great grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mayberry Funeral Home at 406 E. Illinois Ave, Midland, TX 79701.
