It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved son, father, and friend, Charles B. Gibbs, on January 14, 2024. He was a man who truly embraced life's adventures and cherished the bonds of family and friendship.
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Charles embarked on a journey that led him to the United States in the Summer of 1990. Originally settling in San Jose, California, he later moved to Loganville, Georgia, a place he would call home for many years. Charles worked diligently for FedEx and Voltagrid, eventually moving to Texas to pursue new opportunities, with a brief stint in Midland. However, it was Loganville that held a special place in his heart, where he raised his family and became the glue that held them together. A dedicated and hardworking individual, he was not only a provider but also a source of unwavering support to his two children, Brandon and Ryan Gibbs.
He devoted most of his career to the trucking industry, often taking his son, Ryan, with him to work during the summers. Together, they shared a deep passion for aviation, often watching and discussing airplanes.
Family was at the center of Charles's world. He made it a point to prioritize spending time with loved ones, no matter where his travels took him. His dedication to family and friends knew no bounds.
A kind and compassionate soul, Charles was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need. He adored his two sons, sharing his passion for radio-controlled airplanes with them. His dream was to own his own airplane, enabling him to fly and visit family members far and wide.
In honoring Charles's legacy, let us remember the joy he found in flying and the love he shared with his family. May his spirit continue to soar among the clouds, forever watching over us.
Services to celebrate a life well lived will be held in Sanford, Florida and are under the direction of Trinity Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
