Clifton Chandler McMaryion Pettis, 68 transitioned to be with the Lord on January 14, 2026. Clifton was born on November 15,1957, in McCamey, Texas to Lawrence McMaryion and Maggie Myers McMaryion. He was the 11th child out of 12 children from this matrimony.
Clifton graduated from McCamey High School in 1976. Clifton participated in several sports while in high school and was a stand out in football where he was selected to the All District 6 2 A football team. Clifton went to Ranger, Texas where he played college football. Clifton went to work for Shell Pipeline where he worked 20 years. Clifton was ordained into ministry by Pastor Massey of St. Peter's Missionary Baptist Church in El Paso, Texas.
Left to cherish his memories are his sons Quinton and Patrick Pettis; partner, Ema Leyah; his two granddaughters and two grand sons; a sister, Melissa McMaryion; brothers Lawrence McMaryion and Steven McMaryion; and a host of nieces, nephews and great, great nieces and nephews.
Clifton is now reunited in heaven with his parents Maggie Myers McMaryion and Lawerence McMaryion. Brothers, Joe Terry, Billy Terry, George McMaryion, Nolan McMaryion, and a son Ryan Pettis.; sisters, Robbie Wroe, Georgia Ann Hall, Cecila McMaryion, Lessie Sims and Louise McMaryion.
He carried his family on his heart and loved his family dearly. He will forever be in our hearts and will be so missed.
