Gary "Pooky" Lee Nathan Jr. was born February 7, 1971, to Hattie and the late Gary Nathan Sr. in Midland, Texas.
Gary Jr. attended Booker T. Washington Elementary School and graduated from Midland High School in 1989. Gary Jr. continued his education at Paul Quinn College. Gary Jr. worked for the company Greystar, where he was known for his dedication, strong work ethic, and warm demeanor.
Later in his life, he met and married Sheila.
Gary Jr. had a passion for the classics, and one of his greatest joys was watching "oldie" television shows like In the Heat of the Night, The Andy Griffith Show, and Sanford and Son. Despite his best efforts to hide it, he was an enthusiastic "in-the-closet" Cowboys fan who couldn't help but cheer for his favorite team during game days.
Gary is reunited in Heaven with his father Gary Nathan Sr, and his grandparents Billy Taylor Sr., George and Iona Mitchell, and great grandmother Jojo.
Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Hattie Nathan; grandmother, Dorothy Taylor of Ft. Worth; his children, Candace of Austin, Jordan of Los Angeles, Monisha of Killeen, and Ashley of Odessa; his three grandchildren; aunties, April (Sam), Debra, Zonjia (Aaron), Carolyn of Abilene, Barbie Gail of Las Vegas, Lillie of Las Vegas; uncles, Robert, Billy, and Ernest, and his cousin Shone whom he had a very special bond with; and a host of other cousins and friends.
Gary Jr. had a blessed life; he loved and knew the Lord. Gary will truly be missed and loved by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
