My Life Story
I was born on October 9, 1955, in Mexia, Texas, to my loving parents, Clifton and Bernice Wingham, Sr.
I was blessed to be a dedicated student, graduating as Valedictorian in 1974 from Eustace High School in Eustace, Texas. I continued my education at Henderson County Junior College in Athens, Texas, where I earned my Associate's Degree in Elementary Education in 1976. I later attended East Texas State University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education in 1978.
In 1976, I met the love of my life, Robert Evans, and on February 16, 1980, we were united in holy matrimony. Later that same year, in September 1980, I moved to Midland, Texas, where I began my teaching career at Elijah Pease Elementary School.
After my years in education, my career expanded into the oil and gas industry. I worked for Enron and Endeavor, where I remained until my retirement in 2021.
I have always been a woman who cherished family. I was blessed with two beautiful children, Robert Evans, Jr. and Shaderia Evans, whom I loved dearly. My family continued to grow, and I was blessed with two grandchildren, Robert Evans III ("Trey") and Kaylan Evans (Kevin).
I also looked forward with great anticipation to meeting my great-grandsons, Keysan and Kevin, who were born on April 24, 2026.
My husband Robert and I shared many wonderful years together, filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories that I will always hold dear.
I was preceded in death by my parents; my brothers, C. Elliott Wingham and Autry Mack Wingham; and my sisters, Orea Lee Jackson and Debra Steward.
I leave to cherish my memory my loving husband of 46 years, Robert Evans, Sr.; my son, Robert Evans, Jr. (Leslie); my daughter, Shaderia Evans (Damien); my grandchildren, Robert Evans III ("Trey") and Kaylan Evans (Kevin); my great-grandsons, Keysan and Kevin; my siblings, Elzena Williams and Clifton Wingham, Jr. (Mary); my sister-in-law, Carolyn Wingham; my special friends, Brenda Niblett, Mary Hodge, Mary Warren, and Angie Lozano; my beloved church family at Northside Church of Christ; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
