Jerry Edwards, 56, went to be with the Lord on December 13, 2024, leaving a legacy of warmth, joy and love for life. Jerry was born on May 8, 1968, in Hearne, Texas to Ella Schrock and Ezell Edwards.
Jerry had a passion for basketball, always ready to hit the court with a competitive spirit and a smile on his face. His love for sports didn't stop there, as he was a dedicated fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks. He could often be found cheering on his teams with those around him.
Jerry was a social butterfly, a man who thrived in the company of others. He loved to gather with his friends and family, and if there was a get-together, you could be sure he'd be there. His infectious personality made him the life of any party, and his ability to connect with people made everyone feel welcome and valued.
Not only did Jerry enjoy being around others, but he was also an exceptional cook. He loved to bring people together over a meal, whether it was a casual cookout or a special occasion. His kitchen was always open, and his dishes were made with love, bringing comfort and joy to everyone who sat at his table.
Jerry's love for fishing was another passion he shared with those closest to him. Whether casting a line in solitude or with a group of friends, fishing brought him peace and allowed him to enjoy the simple pleasures of life.
Above all, Jerry will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering ability to make others feel special. He had a heart of gold and a spirit that made the world a better place simply by being in it.
Jerry is now reunited in heaven with Kassandra Edwards, Charles Wallace III, Obie Thomas, and several other beloved family members.
Survived by: Mother, Ella Schrock, Brother, Alton Lamont Edwards Sr., daughters Osheonna Middleton, Aunlee Williams, Enough Keyla 'Quincetta' Rabon, Sons Traquan Adams, Jaqua Scurlock, Sister Deborah Scott (Arizona), his favorite nephew Adarius Kelly, Quarde Brookins, Alton Lamont Edwards Jr. and his three children, favorite cousin Derrick Goodley, Todd Hawkins, Floyd Clay, favorite aunt, Suzzette Jackson, his sister Debra Scott, as well as a host of other family members.
Jerry will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
