Reverend Julius Edward Jones, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026. Born on April 4, 1936 in Highland, Texas, he was the cherished son of Juanita Watson and Johnny Jones Sr. and grew up surrounded by the love of family.

He attended and graduated from Carver High School in 1955. Julius served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge.

Julius was baptized at Macedonia Baptist Church at an early age under the late Rev. H. F. Doyle. He was the organizer and President of the men's ministry Brothers Reaching Others for Christ (BROC). Julius served as an Associate Pastor at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Curtis D. Joiner. As part of His commitment to the church He graciously served on the Church Van Ministry providing transportation for community members to attend Sunday school, services, and special events.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Johnny Jones Jr., and son Julius Edward Bowers (Ju Baby). To celebrate and cherish Julius memories are his wife Gloria Conley Jones, sisters: Carolyn Palmer (Rev. William C. Palmer) and Emma Fay Palmer (Thomas), children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
