Maria Elena Leal

Maria Elena Leal, age 77, passed away on May 12, 2025 in Midland, Texas. She was born on March 19, 1948 to Manuel and Ophelia Villasenor in Detroit, Michigan.

Maria was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and friend. She had a kind and selfless heart, always putting others before herself. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and she took great pride in caring for them. Known for her warm smile and gentle spirit, Maria was truly a beautiful soul, both inside and out. Her presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her siblings; Efrain Villasenor, Graciela Ramos, Enedina Martinez, and Javier Villasenor.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Filemon Leal; loving siblings, Nancy Vina, Imelda Costilla and Ofelia Villasenor-Martinez; her sons, Phil Leal, John Bara, and Edward Bara; and her cherished grandchildren Julian, Jdyn, Sabrina, Samantha, Selena, Salma, Xayla, Melody, Ryan, Nathan, and Jake. She also leaves behind many great-grandchildren and extended family members who will continue to carry her love in their hearts.

Though she endured illness in her final years, Maria is now at peace. Her legacy of love, compassion, and strength will forever be remembered by those whose lives she touched.
