I Loved...
You may have called me Mama, Aunt, or even Old Lady, but I was born Marsha Lynn Dunson, and that name carried a life full of love. I entered this world on April 15, 1959, in Midland, Texas, born to Janie Dunson Roberts and Clarence Dunson.
I was blessed to grow up surrounded by the joy and chaos of two sisters and five brothers. Through the years, I became known for my huge heart, gentle spirit, and fierce love for my family.
Loving and caring for others came naturally to me. Following in my mother's footsteps, I devoted my career to private care, pouring compassion into the lives of those who needed it most.
Although through all of my wonderful life experiences, nothing brought me greater joy than being a mother to my son, Cortney. With him, my days were brighter, my laugh louder, and my heart fuller. My blessings multiplied through him, as I got to witness the beautiful arrival of my grandchildren Courtney, Corlyn and Honor and great-grandchildren Zayla and Zayleigh. I loved watching my family tree stretch wide and strong.
I Lived...
My life was made richer by the bond I shared with my siblings and filled with laughter thanks to my crazy, wonderful nieces and nephews. I never turned down a good scary movie, and my door was always open to those I loved.
On July 21, 2025, I was welcomed home by my parents, my sister Sandra, and my brothers Henry, Melvin, and Edwin. I leave to one day meet me again, my brothers Joe and Edward, my sister Gloria, and my niece who became more like a bonus sister, Alicia. I know my legacy will be continued by my loving son Cortney.
I will miss y'all so much, but there are a few things you should know. I love you. I am not afraid. I am not in pain. I am grateful, because I lived a good life.
