Raphael DeBrett Sullivan

Raphael "Brett" Sullivan, age 52, gained his wings on November 23, 2025. Brett was born August 5, 1973, in Midland, Texas. He was the proud son of Shelia Griffith and Aubrey Sullivan, and was also lovingly raised by his stepdad, William Griffith.

Brett attended and graduated from Lee High School in Midland, Texas. There he played football and track. After school, Brett moved to Austin, Texas, where he was welcomed by his best friend Matt, and his family. Matt's mother, Lenora, quickly became mama #2 to Brett. It was in Austin that he decided to become a licensed barber- a calling he had already begun exploring at age 15. Back then, "tall flat tops" were the popular style, and Brett made sure all his friends stayed looking sharp. Being a barber was his true passion and was known for his dedication to his craft. He also shared his kindness and work ethic through his years of service with the City of Austin.

Brett had a love for sports, especially when it came to cheering on one of his favorite teams, the Dallas Cowboys. He often shared conversations with those close to him about sports and never hesitated to offer his opinions and suggestions. His creativity and attention to detail did not stop at his barber skills but he also enjoyed building models of cars and ships during his free time.

Brett is now reunited in heaven with his father, Aubrey Sullivan, and his stepfather, William Griffith.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Raphael Sullivan Jr.; his loving mother, Shelia Griffith; his siblings, Aubrey Sullivan, Melvin Dunson, Micheal Shelton, Breslum Medlock, Brandon Medlock, Kimberly Griffith, Aneka Robinson, Denessa Kendrick, Alicia Sullivan Castile, Tremeka Medlock, and Shelia Austin; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
