Rosie Lee Nelson

August 6, 1938 — May 8, 2026

Rosie Lee Nelson, 87, of Midland, Texas, passed away in Midland surrounded by the love of her family. Rosie was born on August 6, 1938, in Dallas, Texas, and lived a life filled with strength, loyalty, faith, and unconditional love for everyone blessed to know her.

Known lovingly as "Skeeta," she was the heart of her family - a devoted mother, cherished granny, loving caregiver, and faithful friend. Rosie carried a warm spirit that made people feel safe, welcomed, and deeply loved. Her beautiful smile could light up any room, and her kindness and nurturing heart touched generations of family and friends throughout her life.

Rosie was a proud graduate of the Class of '57 Carver Hornets and dedicated 57 years of loyal service to the Boldrick family. Throughout those years, she lovingly cared for Suzy Boldrick and her children, Starr, Miles, and Kelly, who became like family to her. The bonds she built through her caregiving were filled with love, trust, and lifelong memories.

She was also a faithful member of Greater St. Luke AME Church, where she joined in 1968 under Lorenzo E. Ausbie and renewed her membership in 2001 under Rev. David Green. Rosie faithfully served as an usher and took pride in welcoming others into the house of the Lord with grace, warmth, and love. Her faith remained at the center of her life and guided the way she cared for others.

Rosie leaves behind her loving children, Mollie Ball, Terry Nelson, and Worthy Nelson; and her cherished grandchildren, Mylyra Ball, Mykelti (Shafiyah) Ball, Mychael Ball Jr., Staci Benjamin, Amisha Vanderbilt, and Chanthinia Blake. She also leaves behind many beloved great-grandchildren whom she absolutely adored and treasured deeply. Being their granny brought her endless joy, and she loved spending time with them, encouraging them, and surrounding them with love.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Cora Lee Nelson.

Rosie's legacy will forever live on through the lives she touched, the love she gave so freely, and the memories her family will hold close forever. She will be remembered for her strength, her servant's heart, her unwavering faith, her unforgettable smile, and the unconditional love she poured into everyone around her.
